URBANIHAN: A 2D Animated Informative Video and Website Introducing Youth Into Urban Gardening

Abstract
URBANIHAN is a capstone project made by Digital Dino wherein the project is a 2D animated informative video and website that is made to inform the youth into the practice of urban gardening benefits and projects and programs made from the said practice. The project consists of five episodes with each story highlighting the benefits of urban gardening as well as showcasing the projects and programs implemented by the client, Agricultural Training Institute (ATI). The study aims to inform and increase the youth enthusiasm on urban gardening. The objective of the study is to inform the youth regarding the practice of urban gardening and how it benefits the people mentally, financially, economically, and socially, and education. Additionally, a website is designed using a web builder that serves as additional information about urban gardening using the supplementary materials and information provided by ATI and their urban gardening programs and projects for the community. The target audience of the study are the youth ages 15 to 30. The methodology used for the study is a combination of qualitative and quantitative approach to gather the necessary data through interviews for subject experts and surveys for the target audience of the study. As per the findings, a weighted mean of 4.51 has been acquired post-assessment, which is a significant improvement on the mean of 3.82 from the pre-assessment; indicating the effectiveness of the project corresponding to its objective. In conclusion, the videos produced provide sufficient information about urban gardening and its benefits, as well as the client. The website is also able to provide additional information about urban gardening through the supplementary materials and the previous projects mentioned in the animated videos.
Definitely Abled: A Digital Campaign on Disability Sensitivity Awareness Toward Filipino Persons with Disabilities

Abstract
The lack of sensitivity awareness towards disability is a major reason why it's difficult for persons with disabilities to participate in everyday life. Local researchers once described disability as more than an individual concern but rather a more complex social issue [8]. In a similar study conducted in Indonesia [11], it evaluated the Indonesian government's official Twitter accounts that advocated for disability awareness. With the initial findings recommending the use of media contents in the form of, photos, infographics, and illustrations to foster an increased citizen engagement, this research aims to explore the use of a digital campaign and broaden the variety of media content and platforms in raising Filipino sensitivity awareness towards Filipino persons with disabilities by reaching out to Filipinos in the digital space. This research uses both qualitative and quantitative data gathered through interviews, literature reviews, and other statistical data on disability related information from various government agencies. To evaluate the project's findings, the researchers conducted pre-interviews, formative and summative evaluation, surveys and reliability testing. The researchers concluded that the digital campaign plays a significant role in influencing and shaping the perception of an individual toward persons with disabilities.
Comparative Evaluation of Riverbank Slope Stability Using the Method of Slices

Abstract
Riverbank slope failures are a major concern in many regions of the Philippines, particularly in low-lying areas and near major rivers, where recurrent flooding and soil erosion can cause significant infrastructure damage. Accurate assessment of slope stability is crucial for mitigating these risks, and various methods are available to calculate the Factor of Safety (FOS) for slopes. This study compares the FOS values for riverbank slope stability using five common methods of slices: the Morgenstern-Price, Janbu, Bishop, Ordinary, and Spencer methods. There are three hundred seventy-five (375) simulations that were used in the slope stability analysis from the six (6) riverbank slopes and 15 different soil properties. A statistical analysis (ANOVA) revealed no significant differences in FOS values among the methods, indicating that all are reliable for assessing the stability of riverbank slopes. However, the methods demonstrated varying sensitivities to changes in soil properties and slope angles, underscoring the importance of considering their specific assumptions and limitations in practical applications. Further research is recommended to examine the effects of fluctuating water levels, seismic activity, and other environmental factors on slope stability, as well as to explore the integration of advanced numerical methods, such as finite element analysis, for deeper insights into slope failure mechanisms.
Development and Evaluation of an Enterpriselevel Information System for Digital Governance in Philippine SUCs Using Agile Software Methodology and ISO/IEC 25010 Software Quality Model

Abstract
This study focuses on the evaluation of the develop enterprise-level information system that focuses on research, instruction and extension integration for State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in the Philippines. The researcher used the descriptive- developmental type of research. Using the system, the leaders of the school will have a real-time overview of the status of the performance and accomplishment. Policymakers can use the results to inform the development of policies and guidelines that promote the effective integration of digital technologies in education. The application was developed based on the Agile Development Model. The Agile software development life cycle is a set of steps that a product goes through as it progresses from initiation to completion. The characteristics need to evaluate the product/software defined in ISO/IEC 25010 are the following: functional suitability, performance efficiency, compatibility, usability, reliability, security, maintainability, and portability. The system obtained the overall weighted mean of 3.73 which interpret as Excellent in terms of Product Quality evaluated by the IT Experts. This means that the system is approved by the IT Experts and highly recommended to use.
Bobot Maglilibot: A Hybrid Animated Film with Digital Campaign to Bolster Manila City Tourism for the Department of Tourism, Culture, and Arts of Manila

Abstract
Manila City is one of the most popular cities in the Philippines, having a vast tourist destination, including the eight (8) tourism hubs of Manila City, which details a comprehensive list of major attractions and activities. However, preliminary data gathering results, including interviews from the Department of Tourism, Culture and Arts of Manila (DTCAM) and pre-survey assessment, reveal that there is an observed number of youth who have lack of awareness about the maj or attractions and activities available in the eight (8) tourism hubs of Manila. With this, this study aims to develop and implement a hybrid 3D animated film and digital campaign that promotes the maj or attractions and activities available in eight (8) tourism hubs of Manila City in partnership with the DTCAM. The study employs a mixed-method of study, utilizing formative and summative evaluation, including interviews and survey subject matter expert, survey with target audience, and digital campaign analysis. The proj ect revealed positive insights from the subject matter experts, which notably affirms that the overall 3D integration, film, social media, and graphic design components itself also contributed to positive results, which encompasses satisfactory performance. In terms of target audience, the acceptance surveys, which denote that the target audience was able to gain better awareness of the maj or attractions and activities available in the eight (8) tourism hubs of Manila City. And in terms of digital campaign analysis, the key performance indicator in social media insights showed that the digital campaign performance garnered a positive growth rate in terms of number of reach, engagement, and number of followers, denoting that the digital campaign has maximized its platform in creating awareness and expanding audience base.
Persona-Rama: An Explainer Video Series Advocating for Niche Affinity Spaces of Fanfiction, Furries & VTubers in the Filipino Digital Landscape

Abstract
Research on affinity spaces in the Philippines is lacking, namely the subjects-the online communities of vtubers, furries, and fanfiction. As such, the research objective includes to gain a better understanding of these affinity spaces, and implement them to the research's audience through informative explainer videos coupled with a narrative. There is also a digital campaign, and an animated music-video to act as a climax to the aforementioned narrative. The research is conducted in the perceived context of having these affinity spaces largely related to the nature of the multimedia space and contemporary world in general, as well as being related to the study of online community behaviors. Once project context and related literature are gathered, the output commences in production, then a formative evaluation is conducted, followed by a summative evaluation after sampling project demonstrations. The methodology used for the data gathering employs a mixed method approach, with a qualitative approach used mainly for interviews with experts on the fields, and quantitative on surveying the respondents about the project. Purposive nonprobability sampling will be used when dealing with quantitative data, purposive sampling for gathering substantial amounts of information from point persons, and Slovin's formula for unbiased samples respectively. The population sample will be gathered from third year students currently enrolled in the Multimedia Arts from FEU Institute of Technology, while clustering ages 16-25 in gen z. A majority of the data gathered from the evaluations yields satisfactory categories in surveys from summative testing, compared to a lower score on formative, which entails a success when deducing how audiences would learn more about these affinity spaces. Thus far, the research adds available academic information regarding these topics in the Philippine context, to which any interested party may source from.
SPOTN'GO: An Interactive Web-Based Promoting for Best Places to Go in the City of Manila

Abstract
Navigating to find attractions can be challenging for tourists due to the lack of navigation websites that pinpoint any tourist attractions within Metro Manila. The lack of navigation websites may lead to fewer tourists visiting the place and hinder tourism in the area. To resolve this issue, the researchers developed ‘SpotN’Go: An interactive web-based platform promoting the best places to visit in the city of Manila.' This website promotes various attractions including historical sites, old churches, and parks where visitors can enjoy their visit. By blending educational content with an entertaining format, the platform helps users understand the history and appreciate the beauty of the places they visit. The study uses an Input-Process-Output (IPO) design. Users (input) provide information and feedback throughout development. This information is used to improve the web platform (process), which showcases Manila's attractions. The enhanced platform is then beta tested (output) to identify and fix errors before the final launch. A survey assessed the system's quality using the FURPS model (Functionality, Usability, Reliability, Performance, Supportability). Public users (tourists) rated it ‘Strongly Agree’ overall, while IT administrators rated it ‘Agree’ across all aspects (average score: 4.06). This suggests the system meets its goals for both user groups. The study concludes that SpotN'Go successfully achieved its goals by creating a web platform that showcases Manila attractions through information, videos, photos, and maps. The researchers recommend further development to promote various tourist spots that will have a positive impact on Philippine tourism and tourist attractions.
Overdrive: A 3D First Person Investigation Game About Raising Awareness Towards Social Class Inequality in the Philippines

Abstract
Social class inequality is the stratification of classes based on wealth, income, influence, and access to resources. Individuals who are categorized as low class face unequal access to basic needs, inaccessible health services, deterioration of mental health, entry into the poverty cycle, and crime. As suggested by the relative references, the factors of social class in the Philippines are underemployment, unemployment, and income inequality. In alignment with the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 10 entitled Reduced Inequalities, the proponents' objective is to raise awareness towards social class inequalities in the Philippines by creating a 3D first-person action investigation game entitled Overdrive to showcase a premise based on the experiences of the lower class and its possible solutions. The development used the SCRUM development cycle methodology. The game is accompanied by a Content Management System-based website to promote the game materials. To gather the data, the proponents conducted beta testing among IT students of the FEU Institute of Technology, and a few external technical and non-technical individuals. The testing was followed by a Likert scale questionnaire which gathered the satisfaction level of the game and assets, integration of the study within the story, and the website. A weighted average mean was utilized to evaluate the data. The overall data resulted in a mean of 4.35 which interprets a ‘Satisfied’ rating towards the created game and conducted project.
Optimizing Compressive Strength of Concrete with Cocos Nucifera Ash Under Varying Thermal Treatment Conditions: A Response Surface Model Approach

Abstract
The use of Cocos nucifera (coconut shell) ash as a supplementary cementitious material has shown potential in enhancing the compressive strength of concrete. However, the optimal calcination temperature and duration for producing effective ash remain uncertain. This study employs a Central Composite Design (CCD) to investigate the effect of calcination on concrete strength. Nine combinations of temperatures 550°. to 800°C) and durations (1 to 3 hours) were tested, producing 13 samples, which were cured for 28 days before compressive strength testing. X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) analysis identified 15 elements, with iron significantly influencing strength. The highest compressive strength (24.9 MPa) was achieved at 675°C for 2 hours, where iron content reached 16.63 %. A full quadratic regression model was developed, with an R2 of 79.47 %, and backward elimination refined the model to a predicted R2 of 67.32 %. Sensitivity analysis revealed temperature as the most significant factor, with a sensitivity value of 14.53 compared to 1.48 for duration. Optimization indicated the ideal calcination temperature to be 672.81° C. This study supports sustainable development goals by advancing innovative materials for infrastructure and by promoting the use of agricultural waste, reducing the environmental footprint of concrete production.
Augmentative and Alternative Communication Tutor for Filipino Preschoolers: A Tool for Predicting Rapid Guessing Using Decision Tree

Abstract
This study centers on the essential role played by Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in the diagnosis and treatment of speech and language disorders within the Philippines. It underscores the significant difficulties resulting from the limited availability and effectiveness of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) tools, particularly in the context of the Filipino language. These limitations impede the progress of Filipino children struggling with speech delay disorders. The study aims to develop AAC software integrated with an intelligent tutoring system in Filipino. This innovative approach incorporates Filipino AAC tools such as AAC boards, assessments, client management, and identification of rapidguessing behavior on AAC assessments on different difficulty levels using a decision tree algorithm, providing a structured and personalized therapy approach. The software was evaluated using FURPS with a total of 50 participants, whom are the 30 or 60 % speech-language pathologists, 8 or 16 % Information Technology and Computer Science (IT/CS) professionals, 2 or 4 % CS Professors, and 10 or 20 % Parents/Guardians. The computed Cronbach's alpha (α
) was 0.95 which indicates the FURPS instrument has excellent internal consistency. The grand mean of the software evaluation was rated at 4.63 which highlights the generally positive evaluation of the system. Precision, recall and F1-score assess the model's performance in binary classification. For the class labeled “0,” the model achieved a precision of 0.99, a recall of 1, and an F1 score of 0.99. This indicates that the model has high accuracy in predicting instances belonging to class “0.” For the class labeled “1,” the model achieved a precision of 0.95, a recall of 0.92, and an F1-score of 0.93, indicating slightly lower performance than class “0.” The findings of this study and the developed software have significant implications in the field of AAC. Additionally, this study's contribution serves as a foundation for future advancements in AAC-related technologies, driving innovation and improvement in the field.
