About this event

"ACM Boot Up!" is a general assembly and celebration of fresh starts and new connections, welcoming CS students and ACM members to the 2025–2026 academic year. As the name suggests, this event boosts up the organization, sparking momentum for the year ahead by introducing the organization’s culture, officers, initiatives, events, and opportunities in a single day.

This event is a platform where members build camaraderie through interactive activities, while discovering the core values of the organization, which are Aptitude, Competence and Magnanimity, and the many benefits of being part of the community. It also serves as a portal for students to consider becoming members or even future officers, while encouraging participation in both the membership drive and junior officership drive as avenues for involvement and growth.

Through intermission performances, interactive icebreakers, and the showcasing of ACM’s upcoming events, participants will experience how every activity is interconnected, especially to their programs, like processes starting one after the other in a system booting up. Members can claim their ACM Kits and merchandise during the event, meet the RSOs that we are in a yearlong partnership with, connect with other fellow members, and get to know the officers who will lead ACM this year. A photo booth will also be available to capture the day’s memories, giving members lasting tokens of the first event of the year.

More than just an introduction, this is an invitation for members to imagine their own journey, whether as active members or as future officers shaping the organization’s direction. By the end of the day, participants don’t just learn about ACM, they become part of it, ready to collaborate, create, and thrive in an organization built by and for its members.
